Northlands Surgery are looking to recruit a Salaried GP for 4 to 6 sessions per week to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team.
Our purpose-built training practice is situated in the historic market town of Calne, nestled in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside between Chippenham and Marlborough, just 15 minutes from the M4 and 30 minutes from Bath.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will help deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care to the patients of Northlands Surgery.
The role includes routine and urgent consultations, telephone and online consultations, home visits where required, reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions, and managing clinical correspondence and queries.
You will work autonomously whilst also being part of a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, assessing and managing patients with a wide range of undifferentiated and long-term conditions. The role also includes health promotion, screening, preventative care, and developing management plans in line with current clinical guidance and best practice.
There is opportunity to develop clinical interests and contribute to teaching, training and wider practice development.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care as part of our experienced and supportive clinical team.
Main duties will include:
- Face-to-face, telephone and online consultations
- Managing acute and chronic conditions
- Home visits where appropriate
- Reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions
- Processing clinical correspondence and test results
- Developing care plans and supporting health promotion
- Referring patients to other services where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
The post-holder will work autonomously whilst contributing to the wider practice team, participating in clinical audit, quality improvement and practice development activities.
Appointment structure:
- 15-minute appointments
- 24 patient consultations per day
- 1 x 30-minute home visit slot
- Total of 25 patient contacts per day
The Salaried GP will be responsible for their own patient-associated correspondence, referrals, administration and paperwork.
The role requires adherence to professional standards, confidentiality, safeguarding, infection control, equality and diversity, and all relevant practice policies and procedures.

- Full GMC Registration
- National Performers List registration
- Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
